As a person working a military career, stress is a daily occurrence and this herbal supplement helps wind me down without harsh chemicals or drowsiness. Ashwaghanda, holy basil, and passionflower are popular calming herbs, with ashwaghanda itself being a hard hitter for stress-fighting and adaptogenic properties to help with long-term stress adaptation. Each dose requires 2 capsules, and I either take them together when I'm heavily stressed or space them 12 hours apart to start my work day and to end it feeling ready to relax. The capsules are on the average side and coated with a nice shell that makes them easy to swallow with a glass of water. They have not upset my stomach or caused me any drowsiness, yet the calming feeling is notable and occurs within about 30 minutes for me, peaking around the 1 to 2 hour point to keep me feeling zen for up to 4 to 8 hours, depending on how much stress is still around me. When taking these, I feel myself being less jittery and reactive to things and have better mental clarity. During the evenings, they are perfect for unwinding and help me ease to bed when I'm trapped in thoughts of work, or just can't settle down. These certainly also help me sleep like a baby, so I'll count that as an extra bonus! With ashwaghanda, holy basil, and passionflower combined, this supplement is a perfect match for stressed guys and gals, especially those with long-term stress. Pro Tip: Everyday steady work stress or parenting stress? This will help with that. Suddenly need to brief the General or your kid has been called to the principal's? Not so much on this one. This supplement works best for enduring stress versus sudden, acute shocks.

I salvaged what was left in the bottle; however, I haven't felt much of a difference since taking these capsules. I've tried other supplements that contain ashwagandha that were much more effective. Overall, this supplement has been ineffective so I do not recommend it, but it might work better for others.

Overall: Recommended! Great holy basil product for supporting improved relaxation and body calming function in our opinion the bottle packaging is fine and the safety seals are doing the job. Nice that it is independently tested and that it has good manufacturing practice (GMP) certification. We like to check with our care practitioner before starting a new supplement and this holy basil one seemed fine : ) Cheers!
