How Do I Take Fiber Food?
Quickly mix for 3-5 seconds in juice or water:
•Use a shaker cup or a fork to stir (it helps to mix the fiber quickly)
•It will not dissolve (due to insoluble fiber content)
•Drink immediately (within 10 seconds of mixing)
•Drink a glass of water afterward (to feed the fiber so it can expand)
Psyllium is like a sponge. Do not let Fiber Food sit in liquid. Its psyllium content will cause it to become too thick to drink.

This Utzy fiber drink smells surprisingly good and tastes pleasant. I normally can’t stand the taste of fiber, magnesium and similar drinks, but this drink goes down easily. It smells and tastes like lightly sweet cinnamon apple, though the cinnamon stands out the most. This doesn’t taste artificial or funky to me at all. I follow the directions that say to drink this “immediately” after mixing. So I just add one scoop to add 8 oz. water in a shaker cup, shake it and drink it quickly. I assume it would thicken due to the flaxseed powder (and maybe other ingredients), so I drink it fast. The texture isn’t an issue for me at all. This container arrived sealed and has the scoop buried inside. One serving has 6g of fiber and 2g of sugar. This has a proprietary blend of organic psyllium seed powder, organic flaxseed powder, rice bran, apple pectin, fig and prune. It also has brown rice sweetener, apple cinnamon flavor, ascorbyl palmitate, silicone dioxide and rebaudioside A. It’s free of artificial flavor and color, yeast and gluten. This fiber drink doesn’t give me any stomach upset, and it tastes and settles better than any similar product I’ve tried. I am always looking to up my fiber intake for both cholesterol and digestive health. I have tried just plain psyllium husks in the past by adding it to juices and such and was hoping to find something that was flavored and can be added to plain water. You can add psyllium husk to water, but I find that flavor makes it easier for me to take. This product is honestly very similar in texture and mouthfeel to just plain psyllium husks, which isn't surprising as that is one of the main ingredients along with flaxseed flour, rice bran, apple pectin, fig, and prune. You have to really stir it a bit to get it to go into solution. Once it does, it thickens the liquid in the same way psyllium husks do. The apple cinnamon flavor is okay and there is a slight sweetness that leaves an after taste I'm not really into. TIP: I found that if you mix it quickly and drink it immediately, you won't get that thickening that happens when you use psyllium husks. So mix and drink quickly if that thick texture is off-putting.
I was so excited for this...as adding fiber to your diet is great. Sadly I was disappointed because it doesn't dissolve easily. It is quite solid and couldn't get it to mix into the water. I have tried other fiber drinks and they do dissolve instantly so I was shocked that this was thicker. The flavor is apple cinnamon and it tasted good and not too sweet. I do love that it includes Psyllium, Fig, Flaxseed and rice bran to keep you regular! Hope this was helpful. For those who don't mind a thicker consistency than you will probably like this. I switched to using my mini drink blender and it worked great. So I recommend using that type of option to blend. One serving is a scoop full in 8 oz of water. It has 9 grams of fiber... It has 45 calories.
Fiber food is just what the doctor ordered! I've taken this a long time, sometimes off and on when needed. Easy to take and a good product for the elderly. Put a shot of cream in it after it's dissolved in water and you've got yourself a shake ta-boot!
